Not just where. Also what.
Any tracker can locate. The Meine Taxis map reads the car as well: taximeter, doors, belts, platform. That is why every car shows what it is doing right now.

- 1–2 s
The problem
- A dot on a map does not tell you whether the car is working, waiting or driving around empty.
- A customer on the phone asks how long it will take. You guess.
- At night you do not know which cars are on duty at all.
How it works
- 01
Every car with a state
At the rank, to the customer, trip running with meter or platform, return trip, parked, charging, empty from the rank: 15 states, derived from the car's data, not typed in by the driver.
- 02
Free or occupied at a glance
The ring around the symbol shows free or occupied. The heading comes from the course, vans appear as a bus. A car standing with the ignition off is “resting”, not red.
- 03
Waiting at the taxi rank
25 stored rank areas in Salzburg: whoever stands there under 10 km/h is waiting at the rank. So you see how many cars are available where.
What it does not do
- The map shows what the car reports; GPS quality is shown in levels, with weak reception the last position stays.
- Ghost mode: cars can be set so that only authorised people see them. Then the map does not show them either.
- Bus shape, GPS quality and ghost mode exist in the app today; in the web app they are planned.
Questions
How current is the map?
Instantly on every change of state, door, ignition, passenger, driver or taximeter. Otherwise every ten seconds, every two seconds while somebody is watching.
Does the driver see that they are being located?
Yes, that is part of the agreement with the driver. For private trips there is private mode, which hides trips.
What about cars without a driver?
A recognised key fob makes a parked car “free”. Without a fob it stays parked.
